Our MissionFirefighters for healing is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Minneapolis firemen who tragically experienced firsthand what burn victims endure. Our mission is to support burn survivors and their families in ways insurance companies and caretakers are unable to. With donor and community help, we are able to replace some of the essential living items when all has been lost in a fire, contribute financial assistance for corrective surgeries, support summer camp attendance for burn injured youth, donate to local hospital burn units, and provide other resources and information as needed.

Our StoryFirefighters for Healing was co-founded by Captain Dennis Mack, FMO Charles Rucker, and Firefighter Jacob LaFerriere.
On July 3rd, 2010. Minneapolis firefighter, Jake Laferriere, suffered 3rd and 4th degree burns in a backdraft explosion while battling a house fire. While being treated at the hospital for his burns, Jake met young children who were undergoing the same painful treatment for their injuries. Jake refers to this life-changing event as "a blessing” from which Firefighters for Healing was born. |
We are passionate about compassion!
We work tirelessly to help burn victims in need. But our dedication can only go so far. We simply can't do it alone. That's where your generosity and support comes in. Whether it's your time, a one time gift or ongoing financial donation, there's no such thing as a contribution that's too small. Anything you can give is so very appreciated because with your help, we truly are changing lives. Thank you for your support!
